Arelis is director for board relations and racial equity work at Kellogg. In this role, she is responsible for identifying and nurturing opportunities for effecting positive systemic change within communities, executing racial equity/racial healing programming efforts, and supporting the board of trustees with learning aligned with the organizational direction. She leads special initiatives such as the Solidarity Council on Racial Equity (SCoRE), the Strong and Effective sector, and Accelerating Philanthropy on behalf of the organization. Arelis formerly served as a program officer working with the foundation’s Education & Learning team. Before joining Kellogg in 2010, she had a 15-year career in the Michigan public school system, serving most recently as an assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction and human resources.
